A different approach to the exhibition catalogue for the artist’s show at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai.

Mumbai’s city museum commissioned artist Jitish Kallat for an showcase of contemporary works to be displayed amidst the museum’s collections. Titled ‘tomorrow was here yesterday’, the exhibition placed installations and interventions in unassuming locations across the museum, waiting to be discovered by a visitor.

We designed the accompanying catalogue as a narrative visual journey through the galleries, dropping in the exhibition essay to be uncovered by the unsuspecting reader, as if finding a book hidden between display cases. The use of different paper stocks and contrast between modern and Victorian design pages gives the impression of a book with a book.
