An unprecedented effort to represent students’ work at India’s foremost art event

The 2016 edition of the Students’ Biennale at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale involved an enormous effort in engaging with government art schools, students, young curators and artists. Working with the Kochi Biennale Foundation, we devised the editorial plan for a comprehensive format to showcase the process and outcomes of the 15-month exercise.

The book narrates the story of the Students’ Biennale through timelines, images, curatorial texts and reports. A layered publication that opens up the process behind the hugely popular exhibition, it serves as a document of a collaboration that has rarely been attempted before.
